We're seeking a dynamic and energetic professional to lead Root’s global sales efforts.
This is a full-time role based in the UK, reporting directly to Root’s CEO. We value both flexibility and building relationships face-to-face and achieve this by combining work-from-home with in-office collaboration. We’ll make sure that you are able to spend regular, valuable time on the ground with the team in South Africa.
Role overview
As the Head of Global Sales at Root, you'll play a pivotal role in expanding Root’s market presence, particularly in the UK. Your mission is to drive the full sales lifecycle at Root across multiple regions, from prospecting for leads, closing them and handing the relationship over to the Professional Services and Client Success teams.
You’ll collaborate with a world-class team to achieve Root’s revenue goals and strengthen our market presence.

Outcomes you will work to achieve
Leads, sales and revenue
- To directly drive sales and revenue activity, you will be:
- Managing, training, supporting, mentoring and focusing Root’s sales team to consistently meet and exceed Root’s sales and revenue targets.
- Ensuring that Root’s growing partner network is generating good-fit leads for the sales pipeline.
- We identify and persistently target accounts and contacts that fall within our ICP.
- All outbound activities are highly focused, well-researched and personalised.
- Our sales collateral is up-to-date and relevant to the audience.
- High quality, tailored presentations and demos are delivered to prospects.
- You provide input into Root’s marketing strategy and activities to better support sales.
Relationships, conversations and presence keep Root top-of-mind
- To cement Root as a market leader, you will actively be in the market every day, talking to people, learning, adding value, building relationships and expanding your network.
- You make relevant introductions and connections and pull in your team or other Root stakeholders where this is valuable.
- You are creative, but accurate, in positioning Root, the solutions we enable and the problems we solve.
- Root is strongly represented at relevant industry and community events.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate is somebody with a tertiary qualification, an aptitude for numbers with 10+ years of experience in an outward-facing role (preferably in or related to insurance). An appropriate, professional social media presence is beneficial.

This role will entail frequent travel and attending meetings and events outside of regular working hours.
